#draw this in your style

    Hello there ! Long time no see !

My presence around here is becoming quite rare, but it's because I'm rather busy overall and other social media accounts are requiring some time also.

Precisely, this is on Instagram that a great challenge started to grow this last summer : the Draw This In Your Style Challenge.

The concept is simple. An illustrator draws a character, and asks whoever wants to take part to draw this same character in their style.

I had done a couple already in the summer, and I've been tempted again for the 2019 round with two characters by Emily Baker (@sketch.me.emily on Instagram). And here is the result ! With my versions on the left, and Emily's on the right :)

    Nous en sommes à cette période de l'année où les jours commencent à raccourcir et où la température au-dehors vous donne envie de rester confortablement à la maison sous une couverture chaude, tout en sirotant un thé épicé et en observant les couleurs changeantes du feuillage des arbres. Oui, c'est l'automne !

Et qui dit nouvelle saison, dit également nouvelle série d'animaux ! La série de l'automne est la dernière de ce projet qui m'aura occupée près de deux ans et demi. J'espère que vous l'apprécierez et je vous laisse sur ce en compagnie de cet écureuil gourmand :)

    It is this time of the year where the days start to get shorter, and the temperature outside makes you want to stay comfortably home under a warm blanket, sipping a spicy tea and observing the change of colours on the tree leaves. Yes, it's autumn !

And whoever says new season, says also new animals series ! The autum series is the final one of this project that will have occupied me for two years and a half. I hope you will enjoy and I let you with the company of this gourmet squirrel :)

    Mais oui ! C'est bien un petit livre qui pointe le bout de son nez !!
Après plusieurs démarchages, du travail, du démarchage à nouveau, et encore du travail... Mon deuxième petit livre publié est enfin là ! Et c'est grâce à ma tatie, qui écrit sous le nom de Suzanne Max, que j'ai pu donner vie à ce texte avec mes illustrations.
Je suis tellement heureuse qu'il soit là !!! :D

Il s'agit d'un adorable conte pour se préparer tout en douceur pour Noël sur fond de légendes. À l'intérieur se trouvent deux illustrations en couleurs ainsi que deux en noir et blanc.

    Well yes ! It definitely is a little book that is showing the tip of its nose !!

After lots of prospection, work, prospection again, and some more work... My second published little book is here at last ! And it is thanks to my aunt, who is writing under the name of Suzanne Max, that I could give life to this text with my illustrations.

I am so very happy that it is here !!! :D

It is about a lovely tale to get softly prepared for Christmas with some legends background. Inside are two colour illustrations as well as two blacka nd white ones. Sorry it is only in French but for those interested anyway, you can check it out at this link :

*° I'm still alive...

... and I have LOTS of news !!! °*

    As I really have a lot of things to say, I will write exlusively in English, otherwise it would take me forever to write in both versions :D

Gosh, almost one year since I haven't posted anything in here... That actually saddens me because my blog is the first place where I've ever started to post my work online. But the reality is that a blog post is taking some more time to do and I really don't have here the visibility not the interaction that I have with other social medias.
Anyway, it was still important to me to come back to it at one point or another.

Like I said, I have a lot of things to say. Maybe I won't say everything in details but let's start by the most recent and the biggest of all :

I NOW HAVE AN ONLINE SHOP ! :D

It is for now on Etsy and you can find there all the postcards for my seasonal animals, as well as some prints and felt decoration figurines :) More things will come but it was already a lot of work to come to that, so let's see how it goes !

After this big announcement, I think I can show you part of what you will find on the store, which is to say : my summer animals series !! They've been done last month so this is still quite new. I'm slowly completing the collection as I have only the autumn animals now remaining. So for this time, may I introduce you the flamingo (that you already know), the sea turtle, the koala and the mouse !! :)

You may also have noticed my signature changed on the way. Yayyy ! It's because I revamped my logo completely, to have something fitting much better with my personality and with my work ^^

Finally, out of the things I can share and want to share, I will drop here three characters that I painted for a two-day long workshop I did in February.
These two days were magic. Exhausting but full of emotions and discoveries. The first day was with two small groups of children from 7 to 15 years old. We illustrated together a character from a tale that we could identify with. And on the second day, I was with two classes of 6 and 7 year-old children. This time, they had chosen a story with their teacher and we illustrated it together.

As of now, I will just the three original characters that I had created to give some inspiration to the children of the first day and help them find strong figures they could identify with.

But as of now, it's kind of late, I'm tired, and I think I already shared enough for one single post ^^

* One More Light *

 

I was planning, and hoping, to post another illustration today, but things can sometimes be unpredictable.
Yesterday, I heard with immense sadness that one of the most influential artist of my life had passed away.
Linkin Park is the first band I ever was a fan of, and this is mainly thanks to them that I listen to all the great music that accompanies me in my life today.
Past the sadness, the incomprehension, the sympathy for family and friends and the pain of realizing all the things it now means, I realized I couldn't not do something today in his memory.
So here is my tribute, done in just a few hours and with still that open wound that many fans around the world are feeling right now. But I had to, and even if at time it was really hard to continue, I guess it's also a help for me to say goodbye. Hopefully, a good goodbye.

    J'ai ce mois-ci participé à mon premier Character Design Challenge, une sorte de communauté d'illustrateurs qui, chaque mois, répond à un thème donné. Une amie illustratrice me l'avait conseillé et je me suis donc lancée avec ce thème des dieux égyptiens qui était parfait pour une première !

Mon choix s'est porté sur Horus... Qui dit dieu à tête de faucon dit plumes à peindre !! ^^

    I've participated this month to my first Character Design Challenge, a kind of illustrators' community who, every month, works on a theme that has been given. An illustrator friend had recommended it to me and I leapt to this Egyptian Gods theme that was perfect for a first time !

My choice went on Horus... Because hawk's head God has to mean feathers to paint !! ^^

    À l'occasion du baptême d'une nouvelle venue dans la famille, j'ai réalisé ce petit dessin avec son prénoms et comme deux animaux totem, reprenant l'idée que j'avais eue pour créer l'affiche du salon Dévore-Livres :)

    At the occasion of the baptism for a newly arrived in the family, I realised this little frawing with her name and like two totem animals, using again the idea I had had to create the poster for the book fair-trade Dévore-Livres :)

**°° Christmas, Winter, Snow... °°**

    I have weeks of delay, but that way I will be able to give a very long post with many pictures, and I hope you'll like :)
Right above is the last winter animal that I finished for my bi project that was my very first Christmas market ever ! Just like the spring animals, those four new illustrations were meant to be printed as postcards and fine art prints.

    Je suis un peu en retard, mais voici l'animal qui se cachait derrière ce parterre de neige et de pommes de pin :) Un loup rêveur qui attend peut-être l'arrivée du Père Noël... ^^

Autumn vibes !

    Je suis de moins en moins présente sur ce blog, mais c'est vrai que j'ai pas mal de travail ces temps-ci ! Et pour tenter de me faire pardonner, voici non pas une nouvelle info mais DEUX nouvelles infos !
  La première, ci-dessus, est le résultat d'un concours que j'avais lancé sur ma page Facebook à l'occasion de mes 100 likes (youhou !!). J'avais demandé aux participants de choisir un animal de leur choix, et le gagnant recevrait une illustration originale exclusive de cet animal. Cela aura mis du temps car, une fois encore, je manquais un peu de temps, mais je suis plutôt contente du résultat :)

  Le seconde, ci-dessous, est un aperçu d'un projet encore un peu secret, que je dévoilerai un peu plus en détails fin novembre-début décembre. Alors revenez dans ces eaux-là pour la grande révélation, haha ;)

    I'm less and less present on this blog, but it's true that I have quite a lot of work lately! And as an attempt to make myself forgiven, here is not one piece of news but TWO news !
  The first one above is the result of a contest that I had launched on my Facebook page to celebrate the 100 likes (woohoo !!). I had asked the participants to choose an animal of their choice, and the winner would receive an exclusive original illustration of this animal. This will have taken some time because, again, I was missing time, but I'm pretty happy about the result :)

  The second one below is a glimpse at a yet a bit secret project, that I will unveil more in details by the end of November - beginning of December. So come back and check up around that time for the great revelation, haha ;)
