Judith, le retour !

  Première étape d'une idée que j'avais eue (et postée !!) il y a bien longtemps ! Mais je vais enfin pouvoir la développer ! L'image a bien changée depuis le premier croquis (et heureusement !) et pourrait encore un peu être modifiée à l'étape de la peinture, notamment au niveau de l'épée.
J'espère en tous cas pouvoir vous montrer le final très bientôt !

  First step of an idea I had had (and posted !!) a long time ago ! But I am at last going to be able to develop it ! The image has definitely changed since the first sketch (and thankfully !) and might still be modified a little bit during the painting step, especially somewhere around the sword.
Anyway, I hope I can show you the final very soon !

Histoire de couleurs...

  Ces derniers jours, j'ai travaillé sur l'un de mes deux projets d'album jeunesse dont voici quelques recherches. Bien que je ne compte pas en dévoiler le contenu exact tout de suite, j'avais tout de même envie de partager ces croquis, car ils sont en lien direct avec une petite idée que je vais développer exclusivement pour ce blog ! En effet, durant les mois qui suivent, je compte bien concocter un joli article mêlant illustration et photographie... Mais... Je n'en dirai pas plus pour l'instant ! ^^

Et comme j'ai le sentiment de ne pas poster beaucoup de nouveautés ici ces temps-ci, je ne résiste pas à l'envie de tricher un peu et de partager de manière déguisée un des personnages dudit projet d'album... Je dis "de manière déguisée", car ce n'est pas exactement sous cette forme que Mademoiselle la tortue apparaîtra, je l'espère, sur les pages de sa future maison de papier !

  These days, I've been working on one of my two children book projects, for which are here a few researches. Even though I am not intending to unveil its exact content right away, I still wanted to share those sketches, for they are directly linked with a little idea I am going to develop exclusively for this blog ! Indeed, during the following months, I do intend to cook a sweet article mixing illustration and photography... But... I won't tell you more than that for now ! ^^

And as I have the feeling that I don't post that much news here lately, I can't resist to the will of cheating a bit and sharing in a kind of disguised way one of the characters for the aforementioned album project... I'm saying "in a kind of disguised way", because it's not exactly under that shape that Miss the turtle will appear, I hope so, on its future house paper pages !

Moonlight

 

   Comme je ne l'ai pas fait plus tôt, je tiens tout d'abord à souhaiter une bonne année à tous ceux qui passeront sur ce blog ! :)

Et pour inaugurer la nouvelle année, j'ai réalisé une illustration un peu particulière puisque entièrement en papier découpé ! Cette technique me fascine vraiment et j'aimerais le développer de plus en plus pour apporter un peu de variété à mes dessins. Le fond du ciel est par contre réalisé à la peinture, car j'avais un peu peur du grand aplat de couleur qu'aurait apporté le papier. J'ai ensuite rajouté quelques étoiles et points de lumière sur l'eau à la gouache, quelques réhauts ici et là au crayon, et voilà !!

Ce dessin ne correspond à aucune commande particulière, juste une image que j'avais très envie de réaliser, pour mon plaisir :)

   As I didn't say it earlier, first I tend to wish a happy new year to all of those who will come by this blog ! :)

And in order to inaugurate the new year, I realised a quite peculiar illustration since it is entirely made with cut paper ! This technique really fascinates me and I would like to develop it more and more to bring a bit more variety in my drawings. The background of the sky is though realised with paint, because I was a bit afraid of the big solid color that the paper would have brought. I then added a few stars and light dots with gouache, a few highlights here and there with a pencil, and there you go !!

This drawing is not meant for any specific order, just an image I really wanted to realise, for my own pleasure :)
