* Le plus mignon de tous les dinosaures *

 

... Ou des lézards, question de point de vue ! Pour me remettre dans le bain après ces quelques semaines de vacances, j'avais envie de quelque chose d'assez simple et de rapide à faire... L'idée m'était venue il y a un petit moment après avoir vu une vidéo de Smosh, dans laquelle on pouvait voir, accrochées au mur du couloir, des petites toiles de Yoshi et ses oeufs... Il me les fallait !!! Alors j'ai décidé de me confectioner ces petits tableaux, avec une petite touche originale. Et le résultat est là !

Techniques : kraft contrecollé sur toile, gesso, gouache, pastels

The cutest of all dinosaurs... Or of lizards, matter of point of view ! In order to get back into the swing of things, I wanted something quite simple and quick to do... The idea came to me a little while ago after I saw a video by Smosh, in which we could see, hung up onto the corridor's wall, little canvases of Yoshi and his eggs... I had to have them !!! So I decided to make my own little paintings, with a little original touch. And here is the result !

Techniques : kraft paper glued on canvas, gesso, gouache, pastels

Première illustration, pour le single Baptism of Fire, du premier album de Wicked Breath, Reflections & Realizations. Cette peinture a été réalisée à l'acrylique sur bois (comme le sera le reste de l'artwork) puis retouchée par endroits sur Photoshop (visages, maisons).

"This is the end..."

 ça y est !!!

Je suis enfin diplômée en illustration ! Après 4 mois de travail, nous avons tous présenté nos projets devant un jury ce lundi. La semaine dernière était réservée à l'installation et la préparation de nos stands en vue des portes ouvertes de l'école (qui ont eu lieu ce weekend), puis de notre présentation finale.

La journée de lundi fut très riche en stress et en émotion. Beaucoup d'attente et de doute. Heureusement que les résultats étaient annoncés le soir même !

Toutes les sections de l'école passaient leur examen ce jour-là aussi, et notre classe d'illustration a rencontré un succès total lorsque nous avons appris que nous avions tous été reçus, et avec un très grand nombre de mentions.

Bref, ces 5-10 minutes resteront gravées dans ma mémoire encore longtemps...

Ci-dessus et après, quelques photos de mon stand... Quelques planches d'illustrations suivront dans les jours qui suivent !

That's it !!!

 I am at last an illustration graduate ! After 4 months of work, we all presented our projects in front of an examining board this Monday. Last week was meant for the installation and the preparation of our exhibition stands with a view to the "open doors" of the school (which took place this weekend), then to our final presentation.

The day of Monday was very full of stress and emotion. Lots of waiting and doubt. Thankfully the results were announced on the same evening !

All of the school areas of specialization were having their exam on that day too, and our illustration class met a complete success when we heard that we all had passed, and with a great number of distinctions (mentions).

Anyway, those 5-10 minutes will stay carved in my mind for still a long time...

Above and after, a few pictures of my stand... Some illustration boards will come in the following days ! 

- La Belle et la Bête - part one -

 Je dévoile enfin un petit peu de mon gros projet de fin d'année, qui marquera donc aussi la fin de ma vie d'étudiante (héhé)...

Ci-dessus une double page terminée d'un livre-CD basé sur l'histoire de la Belle et la Bête, et servi d'une bande originale faisant intervenir divers morceaux post-rock (ou plus ou moins dans l'atmosphère) (pour les connaisseurs en effet, comme on peut le voir sur cette page, Thursday n'est pas du tout un groupe de post-rock. Mais cet instrumental a une valeur atmosphérique particulièrement texturée, ce qui m'a attirée pour créer la bande originale, et ce qui m'a guidée quant à l'orientation stylistique de mes peintures...).

N'hésitez surtout pas à me faire part de vos impressions =)

 I am revealing at last a little bit of my big end-of-the-year project, that will also settle the end of my student life (hehe)...

Right above you can see a finished two-page for a book-CD based on the story of Beauty And The Beast, and assisted by a soundtrack includind diverse post-rock tracks (more or less in the atmosphere) (for the experts indeed, as we can see on this page, Thursday is not a post-rock band at all. But this instrumental has a particularly texturized atmospheric value, which attracted me to create this soundtrack, and what lead me as for the stylistic orientation of my paintings...).

Don't hesitate at all about sharing with me your impressions =)
