Mystère et boules de gomme...

  La petite dernière arrive... Il s'agit de la couverture d'un roman régional fictif, Le Portail Rouge, pour de la littérature jeunesse section polar, avec, imaginons, ce résumé-ci au dos du livre:

Depuis quelques jours, le gardien du Jardin des Plantes assiste à un phénomène étrange et inquiétant: tous les matins à l'ouverture du lieu, il retrouve le portail déjà ouvert ainsi qu'une clé rouge au sol... Cette clé n'est évidemment pas celle du portail, mais alors d'où vient-elle? La ville de Nantes fait alors appel à Pierrick, un jeune garçon un peu vagabond de 15 ans et connu pour ses talents de détective, pour résoudre cette énigme.

The little last one is coming... It's about the cover for an imaginary regional novel, The Red Gate, for young litterature and detective genre, with, let's imagine, this synopsis on the back of the book:
For a few days, the Plants Garden caretaker is attending an odd and worrying phenomenon: every morning at the opening of the place, he finds the gate already open as well as a red key on the ground... This key is obviously not the gate's one, but then where is it coming from? The city of Nantes is then calling on Pierrick, a slightly wandering 15 years old young boy and known for his talents as a detective, to resolve the enigma.

J'ai essayé la science-fiction et le polar, deux genres pour lesquels je m'y connaissais peu...

The great thing about stories, it's that everybody in the end can interpret them the way they want, be touched by some things for which some others would not be, and then create an intimate link with them. I like the fact of not saying where it is (some pictures are recognizable enough so you can guess though ^^) and letting the pictures talk by themselves instead.

The only difference between the stories these pictures will tell you and the one it is telling me is that for me...

I just wanted to precise that if this time I wrote only in English, it was because of the even-more-than-usual-international content of this post, and also because some instinct lead me to do so, I guess ^^

Racontez-moi vos vacances!...

  Eh bien oui, me revoili me revoilà avec tout un tas de choses! En effet, n'ayant rien posté de neuf depuis le mois de juillet, j'ai pensé qu'il fallait un peu se rattrapper, alors voilà... Vous allez avoir droit à mes devoirs de vacances!! ^^ Ce fut de manière générale assez stressant, mais il y a quelques petites choses dont je suis bien contente... Et puis certaines d'entre elles garderont pour moi une réelle valeur sentimentale =)

Chapitre Premier: L'étude documentaire! (en couleurs)

 Il est vrai que je n'ai encore jamais présenté cette discipline ici aux non-initiés... et ce sera certainement la dernière fois que vous en aurez la démonstration car j'en suis enfin débarrassée cette année!!  (euh...Oui, l'étude doc, ce n'est pas du tout ma tasse de thé) Donc le principe est simple: on a devant soi des objets de toutes sortes, et on doit tout d'abord avec note petit crayon recopier parfaitement ce que nous avons devant les yeux, puis, avec notre petit pinceau et notre petite acrylique, il nous faut ensuite peindre le tout de la manière la plus réaliste possible, je dirais même qu'il faut que cela paraisse encore plus vrai qu'une photo! (concept que je en saisirai sans doute jamais ^^) Pour information, celle-ci a dû me prendre un peu moins d'heures mais la précédente (car oui, il y en a eu une autre de même envergure précédemment) avait atteint le joli total de 90 heures de travail (oui, à moi aussi ça fait mal)! Donc voilà! Je vous laisse vous faire votre opinion ^^

 Well yeah, here I am again with plenty of things! Indeed, since I haven't posted anything new since the month of July, I thought that I had to catch up a bit, so there it is... You'll be introduced to my holiday homeworks!! ^^ It was generally pretty stressful, but there are some little things I am happy about... And some of them will keep a true sentimental value to me =)

Chapter One: The documentary technique! (in colors)

 It is true that I still haven't introduced this discipline to the non-initiated... and this will probably be the last time you will have the demonstration of it since I'm at last done with it this year!!  (uh... Yes, this technique, it is not my cup of tea at all) So the principle is simple: we have in front of us different kind of objects, and we must first of all perfectly redo with our little pencil what we have in front of our eyes, then, with our little paintbrush and our little acrylic, we must after that paint the whole in the most realistic way possible, I'd even say that it has to be even more realistic than a picture! (Concept that I will probably never get ^^) As a piece of information, this one must have taken a little less hours but the previous one (because yes, there was another one with the same size previously) had reached the lovely total of 90 hours of work (yes, it hurts me too!) So here you go! I let you make your own opinion ^^

 Maintenant, la même mais en version noir et blanc =) Fait au graphite, donc prend beaucoup moins de temps et d'énergie!

 Now, the same but in its black and white version =) Done with graphite, so takes much less time and energy!

Chapitre Troisième:

Au sujet suivant, une dizaine de dessins en techniques de noir et blanc au choix! Scènes de ville avec des personnages en situation =)

  To the next subject, around ten drawings in black and white techniques of our own choice! City sceneries with characters moving throughout =)

Divers: stylo, crayon graphite, pierre noire, encre de Chine, sanguine
Miscellaneous: pen, graphite pencil, dark chalk, India ink, red chalk

Chapitre Dernier:

Et pour finir, il nous était demandé de réaliser un carnet de voyages, sur plus ou moins le même thème que les dessins en noir et blanc. Qualité très inégale dans mes dessins je trouve, mais les conditions n'étaient pas toujours excellentes (désolée de chercher à trouver des excuses! ^^)... En tous cas, je suis plutôt contente du résultat de manière générale =)

And to the end, we were asked to execute a travel book, with more or less the same theme as for the black and white drawings. Very irregular quality in my drawings I think, but the conditions were not always excellent (sorry for trying to find excuses! ^^)... Anyway, I am kind of happy of the result in a general way =)

Tortue et Chouette

   C'est chose plutôt rare, mais il m'arrive quand même de faire de petites figurines de ce genre... Ici, c'était en fait un cadeau pour ma maman qui adore les tortues et les chouettes ^^ Cela a été fait en pâte à modeler durcissante, peinte ensuite à l'acrylique, et en ce qui concerne la physionomie des deux petits personnages, je me suis inspirée de moi-même, d'une image que j'avais déjà faite auparavant (en prévision d'une possible histoire pour enfant racontant les aventures d'un lapin et d'un hérisson ^^).

Donc voilà, ce qu'il se passe, c'est que je poste des travaux de plus en plus anciens... J'ai toujours mon énoooorme liste de choses à faire dans un coin de ma tête, mais je n'arrive déjà pas à démarrer mes devoirs d'été... En espérant que j'aie quand même quelque chose de tout nouveau à montrer avant la fin de l'été!

   It's a pretty rare thing, but I though happen to make little figurines of this kind... Here, it was actually a gift for my mom who loves turtles and owls ^^ It was made with hardening modelling clay, then painted with acrylic, and as far as the appearance of the two little characters is concerned, I got inspired from myself, from a picture I had alerady done before (in anticipation of a possible children story telling the adentures of a rabbit and a hedgehog ^^).

So now, what's happening is that I post works older and older... I still have the huuuuge list of things to do in a corner of my mind, but I already can't start my homeworks for the holidays... Hopefully I'll have though something brand new to show before the end of the summer!

Promo du jour: 2 pour le prix d'un!

Eh bien oui, il est un fait que je n'ai rien ajouté de nouveau depuis plus d'un mois (devoirs de fin d'année, début des vacances...) donc j'ai pensé qu'il serait plutôt mal convenu de faire un retour avec seulement un dessin... =p
Voici donc ci-dessus un devoir qui date du mois de Janvier, où il s'agissait tout simplement de répondre au sujet: le Funambule... Le coeur du sujet était le travail de la composition, après au niveau du style, on était toujours aussi libre de faire ce qu'on voulait!
En ce qui concerne le travail ci-dessous, tout d'abord je m'excuse pour les couleurs... J'ai fait ce que j'ai pu pour essayer de retrouver les couleurs réelles, mais a priori, la photographie n'aime pas le bleu! (Ou alors c'est juste moi qui ne suis pas très douée! ^^) Donc pour celui-ci, le concept était de partir d'une tâche en noir et blanc, de la travailler un peu au hasard puis de s'arrêter, la regarder... Et y voir quelque chose à l'intérieur! Puis la retravailler en détails en fonction de ce qu'on y a vu et au final d'avoir un visuel tout à fait... fini! =p
(Précision: Je l'ai recommencé en couleurs! Ceci n'est pas mon premier essai!!)

Well yes, it is a fact that I haven't added anything new for more than a month (homeworks for end of the schoolyear, beginning of holidays...) so I thought it would be pretty much inconvenient to have a come back with only one drawing... =p
So here is above a homework made back in January, for which we simply had to answer to the subject: the Funambulist... The heart of the subject was the making of composition, then as for the style, we were still as free to do whatever we wanted!
As for the work below, first I apologize for the colors... I did what I could to try to find back the real colors, but a priori, photography doesn't like blue! (Or then, it's just that I'm hopeless! ^^) So for this one, the concept was to start from a black and white stain, to work on it a bit at random then to stop, to look at it... And to see something inside of it! Then to work it closer to details, according to what we had seen in it and eventually to have a visual right all... finished! =p
(Precision: I started it again with colors! This is not my first try!!)

Couleur...

Encore un devoir fait pour l'école (ces derniers temps, c'est tout ce que j'ai le "temps" de faire!), dont le sujet très vague était: la couleur. Donc changer les couleurs locales des choses, changer le sens d'une image par rapport à la couleur, faire ressentir la couleur... Tout était permis.

Maintenant, je laisse de côté mon interprétation personnelle et je vous laisse développer la vôtre! ^^

(On m'a dit, enfin le professeur m'a dit, qu'il y avait un petit côté Shaun Tan... Sachant que j'aime beaucoup cet illustrateur et que c'est la seconde fois qu'il m'en fait la remarque, je dois dire que je suis assez fière! ^^)

Again a work done for school (lately, it's the only things I have "time" to do!), which subject was very vague: the color. So changing the usual colors of things, changing the meaning of a picture because in association with the color, making the feeling of the color... Everything was allowed.

Now, I let aside my personal interpretation and I let you develop yours! ^^

(I have been said, well the teacher told me, that there was a little something Shaun Tan related... Knowing that I like this illustrator a lot and that it is the second time he is noticing that to me, I have to say that I'm  pretty proud! ^^)

Comme promis, voici la suite et fin de mon sujet d'examen! Premièrement, la maquette du stand promotionnel, précédemment présenté sous forme de dessin... Deuxièmement, les deux étapes du buzz internet, comprenant un story-board d'une vidéo qui serait diffusée sur des sites de type YouTube et une description du site sur lequel on serait dirigé à la fin de la vidéo.
Pour les détails, normalement tout est décrit dans la partie 3... =)

As I had promised, here is the following and ending part of my exam subject! Firstly, the model of the promotionnal stand, previously introduced under a drawing shape... Secondly, the two steps of the internet buzz, consisting of a story-board of a video that would be spread on websites, kind of like YouTube and a description of the website to which we would be linked at the end of the video.
For details, it should be all described in the third part... =) (For a quick translation, see below)

The video spread on the web links to the official Sweetti Frutti website, on wich we can watch the video again and participate to the game, which is part of it.
As in the video, we choose a candy to plant and take care of it until it grows and becomes a tree (the Sweetti Fruittier is kind of a pun, can be translated by the Sweetti Fruit Tree). And several actions are possible to take care of the young trees in level 1.

In level 2, The Sweetti Fruit Tree grew, some other possible actions have been added. We can also change teh setting, depending on teh water and sun needs of our tree.

In level 3, the "fruits" have appeared and we discover what type our tree is. We can from now gather the fruits thanks to bag and receive some gifts from the site!



Comme je l'ai dit auparavant, je ne suis pas très fière de la chose, mais c'est tout ce que j'ai pu trouver! Donc, désolée, mais je ne travaillerai pas pour des évènements internet!! ^^

  Alors pour commencer, ce groupe c'est un peu ma vie ^^ Alors forcément, c'est aussi une bonne source d'inspiration! =)

Voici donc une petite composition réalisée il y a à peu près deux ans, d'où l'aspect très collage! Bon, ce qui m'importait, c'était la matière du fond et surtout de travailler des portraits!!! Il y eut un temps où je ne faisais que recopier des visages, c'est pour ça que j'ai bien aimé l'idée de m'y remettre, et pour la première fois en peinture! ^^

J'ajoute également les portraits sans la retouche...

  So to start with, this band is, like, my life ^^ So obviously, it is also a good source of inspiration! =)

Then, here is a little composition made about two years ago, hence the really collage aspect! Well, what mattered to me was the material of the background and most of all, to work on portraits!!! There was once a time where I was only drawing after faces models, that's why I liked the idea of doing that again, and for the first time by painting! ^^

I am also adding the portraits without the computer effects...

Puis je me suis rendu compte de quelque chose de merveilleux, une des raisons pour lesquelles je les aime tellement, c'est que leur musique ne provoque pas seulement des émotions, mais, en tous cas en ce qui me concerne, également des émotions visuelles... Des formes, des couleurs... Et j'ai donc réalisé à partir de ça une image basée sur la mélodie à la guitare de School of Hard Knocks. Pas facile mais j'étais plutôt contente du résultat!

Then I realized something wonderful, one of the reasons for which I love them so much, it is that their music doesn't produce only feelings, but, at least as far as I'm concerned, also visual feelings... Shapes, colors... And then I drew after that a picture based on the guitar melody of School of Hard Knocks. Not easy but I was pretty much happy of the result!

Sketches

Parce que récemment avec ma classe on est allé dessiner à l'extérieur, je me suis souvenue à quel point dessiner dehors c'était troooooooop bien! ^^ Ci-dessus, deux petits sketches que j'avais eu le temps de faire quand j'étais à Paris pour mon stage, entre deux promenades du soir!

Ci-dessous, la fontaine de la Place Royale à Nantes que j'ai dessinée cet après-midi pour cause de "pas cours!" Il faisait super beau, très très agréable! Bon, je me suis dit que j'allais mettre la vue originale aussi, parce que j'adore vraiment cette fontaine...

Because recently I went to draw outside with my class, I remembered how it is soooooooo cool to draw outside! ^^ Above, two little sketches that I had time to do when I was in Paris for my training period, between two evening walks!

Below, the fountain of Place Royale in Nantes that I drew this afternoon because of "no class!" The weather was really great, very very enjoyable! Well, I was thinking that I would also put the original view, because I really love this fountain...
